Moving your office can be stressful, but there are a few ways to make this transition a little easier. I’m confident there are many Boston moving companies that have moved an office but I think we have one of the best teams in the business when it comes to relocating an office and getting you back up and running. If you call us on Friday and say you’re moving on Monday, well, that’s a problem but if you do a little planning, that’s where we come in and make this experience less stressful. Take a look at these tips and view the video below for even more ideas. Downtime is easily the biggest threat to your company, so make sure that you keep this in mind when you schedule your move. Price might be your number one criteria when you are looking for a moving company, but reliability and experience should really be what you are looking for.  If you choose the cheapest company and they do not execute the move in a timely manner, it could end up costing you more in the long run. Don’t forget to check out the rules of both your new and old facilities, because some buildings will require you to use unionized movers.  Also check whether the building has restrictions on elevator use or after hours moving. To make the move as seamless as possible, it is a good idea to sit down with the moving company and plan where each piece of furniture will go once it gets to the new space.  This will save you from needing to move everything around again later! If you have each person pack their own workspace and label everything it will make unpacking and getting the business up and running again a much quicker process.  The moving company can help with this by dropping off boxes and crates before the move. All of your electronics must be turned off in plenty of time before your movers get there.  Items need time to cool down so that they do not get damaged during the move.
