We will do everything we can from the front office to you’re moving crews. We’ll plan your move with your input and will execute the logistics as smooth as possible.

However, there are several things you and your family can do to reduce the stress that you might experience during your upcoming move.

Procrastination and moving are not a good mix

Waiting until the last minute to do anything revolving around your upcoming move is a recipe for stress. We get it, there are parts of a move that you may not enjoy. But if you are going to get from one home to the next, you are going to have to find the energy to get some of these tasks completed. Whatever the task is such as packing, paperwork, placing things in storage, or other parts of your move, try hard not to delay anything.

Create a moving checklist

If you go to the grocery store without a shopping list, we can guarantee you’re going to forget to pick up certain items. The same goes for moving. There are so many working parts when it comes to moving to a new home that you need to create a list. At the beginning of your moving journey, create a checklist and share it with everyone involved, especially family members.

Take a walk

If you are getting stressed out during any part of your move, drop everything, and walk away. Try not to tough it out in the heat of a move. For example, if you have been packing your home for hours and it is starting to stress you out, make sure you take adequate breaks. You can also set a timer to remind yourself to take a time out. Pack for an hour, and then take a 10-minute break.

If you are getting stressed out during moving day, do the same. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Your professional moving company will be doing the heavy lifting so don’t worry about walking away for a few minutes.

Don’t go it alone

When you are moving to a new home, it’s important to involve the entire family. This not only spreads out the tasks involved with moving but if you have children, it makes them part of the moving experience and can lower everyone’s stress. On your moving checklist, assign everybody in the house their responsibilities. Sharing the workload when it comes to moving will lower everybody’s stress and it can even create a fun family experience.
