You or someone you know must post your permit signs at least two days before your moving day. You will also be provided a flyer to alert your neighbors. Please make copies and place them in doorways and on cars within a half-block of the parking spaces you are using. You need to do this every day for at least two days before your move. If the spaces are metered, you only need to flyer one day before your move.

Move Day

If a car is parked at your reserved spot, call the Boston police at 617-343-4911. Let them know it’s not an emergency and give them the plate number. If the police can’t reach the car owner, they will arrange for a tow.

Post Move

Make sure to clean up any debris left behind and remove any signs or flyers after your move. If you have questions about your application, please email movingtrucks@boston.gov or call the Office of the Parking Clerk at 617-635-3146.
