The big day is just under 3 weeks away and we are off to a great start. Raising practically $4,200 amongst 16 walkers is quite an accomplishment, don’t you think?  We are well on our way to meeting our goal of $7,000! Humboldt Storage and Moving, for the 3rd year in a row, is participating in the Annual March for Babies event, a 3 mile walk down Storrow Drive in Boston, to help raise money for the March of Dimes organization, this year being held on May 7.  Over the past 5 years, this event has raised $2.5 million!  The March of Dimes, if you don’t already know, is one of the leading world organizations in preventing premature births and birth defects, and giving every baby a greater chance for a healthy start. In addition to competing against other companies (and there are about 20,000 corporate teams that participate in this event annually) to raise money for the March for Babies, our Humboldt team of walkers has an internal motivation: The walker who raises the most donations gets a day off, and the walker with the 2nd highest donations gets lunch for his or her entire department.  Our morale is kept up by the work and effort put forth by Jamie, our team leader, who monitors and posts our progress with flyers, e-mails, and bulletin board displays (please see pictures below). If you would like to learn more, make a donation, or start your own team, please go to www.marchforbabies.org Don’t forget to look up the Humboldt Team to see how we are doing!
