It seems that for many due to our uncertain economy or just that fact that people are changing lifestyles that downsizing is becoming more popular. Leaving that big home with four plus bedrooms and getting yourself into a smaller home or even a condo or apartment has become more and more widespread. You know what we always say; Moving is stressful. But when you “have to” move or you need to leave the home you raised your children in and have other fond memories, the stress level can get to you. How do you minimize that stress? A couple quick tips: Plan ahead: The more you plan anything, the less stress you’ll have. You’ll need to think of packing, where items go you can’t hold on to and others major decisions which leads us to the next tip; Purge: You will in all likelihood, need to get rid of things you have no room for. Take time to thoughtfully plan out where those items are going such as family, charity or storage and go through those without rushing. Relax: yeah, if you know us, you knew we would say that… But it’s an important part of this process. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Take the time to cherish your memories and think ahead to all the new ones you’ll acquire. Jim and Howard recently discussed this topic with me and they have a few very good suggestions. Take a look at the video below. And as we always say, let this Boston moving company help you through the process. swfobject.embedSWF(“http://www.youtube.com/v/bfus5agFJ5M&rel=0&fs=1&showsearch=0&showinfo=0”, “vvq-780-youtube-1”, “425”, “344”, “9”, vvqexpressinstall, vvqflashvars
