A lot goes into a move. There are a lot of steps, plans and stress involved. But what about when you finally get to the end of this move? One of the most common questions we are asked is the proper etiquette for tipping the movers. Should I tip the movers? After all, these men/women have spent the day handling some of your most precious and expensive objects. Well, tipping your mover is certainly not required but it is definitely appreciated. If you feel that at the end of the day, you are happy with the moving crew, then by all means, tip them. The crews at this Boston moving company always appreciate being recognized for their hard work. But again, no one expects to be tipped. Crews are already being paid for a job. Another thing to consider is whether or not your move is an interstate move and therefore requires a driver (a leader) and a crew. The driver is at the origin and destination of your move and usually receives the biggest tip. As the driver is a key component to a smooth move, think about letting he/she know beforehand that you will be tipping them at destination – to be sure the rest of the smooth goes well. An alternative (or in addition) to tipping is feeding the movers. This is a great gesture and it often benefits you as the crew would stay on site and tend to eat and get back to work more quickly – shortening this stressful move day. Or offer some cool beverages on these hot summer days. Whatever you decide is perfectly acceptable based on your individual situation. Take a look at this short video about tipping the moving crew.
