Irish Exchange Program Benefits All Involved
Canton’s Humboldt Storage And Moving’s Cuts Across Continental Line

Humboldt Storage and Moving, one of the largest United Van Lines agent in the Greater Boston Area and based in Canton, MA, announces their official Cultural Exchange Program with Ireland in the employment of exchange students.

Humboldt Storage and Moving’s pilot summer Cultural Exchange Program, which enabled four Irish students to gain employment as Crew Members with the company, was a complete success this year. The company is looking forward to expanding the program next summer to include not only Irish students, but those from other countries as well.

Ireland’s four exchange students that met the educational requirements and possessed exemplary grades and work habits were University College Cork students Stephen Twomey of Cork, majoring in Commerce; Seamus Power of Cork, majoring in Electrical Engineering; Paul O Sullivan of Co. Cork, Electrical and Electronic Engineering major; and Ciaran Barry of Co. Cork, majoring in Electrical Engineering.

International Benefits

Due to a shortage of employees within relocation crews during summer months, Humboldt looked to the international market for help. The Cultural Exchange Program was developed with Ireland, thus aiding Humboldt in their “employment crisis”. In return, Irish exchange students were able to earn money throughout their summer employment for the upcoming college year.

“Both of us, we at Humboldt Storage and Moving and the exchange students, have greatly benefited from the Cultural Exchange Program,” said D’Arcy Goldman, President of Humboldt Storage and Moving. She added, “The program facilitates our need for additional help during the summer months, while enabling exchange students to save money toward their education. Our staff loved these guys and the exchange of ideas and customs was wonderful. It is a program that benefits all involved and one that we will be extending to other countries in the future.”

Currently, Humboldt Moving and Storage has over 90 employees and offers a wide range of employee benefits to attract and retain motivated employees ranging from health and dental insurance, profit sharing and retirement programs to stress management, weight loss workshops and educational reimbursement programs.
